The iTunes program is enjoyed by millions of PC and Mac users around the world. It allows them to watch videos, listen to music, stream radio, and receive podcasts on a regular basis. It also allows them to purchase files for their media collection too. Many people use their iPod to do a lot of the same things, and often it happens that they have different collections of files on the device and the computer. This is a time when it is important to have a good way to transfer music from iPod to iTunes effectively.
While some might say this is a “no brainer”, it is actually a bit complicated to ensure the files end up where the individual wants them to go. It is also a bit tricky to shift files for “storage” or “backup” purposes and keep them readily available. Fortunately, there are some well-designed programs now available that allow someone to transfer music from iPod to iTunes for a variety of reasons, and with a complete set of controls.
If someone selects the right program, it will become a familiar tool for managing the contents of their iPod and PC, and also for creating a frequently updated backup of their entire media library.
The way the preferred software packages work is to require the individual to connect the iPod to the computer, open the program, and wait for the contents of all related folders to be displayed. Often this means that the iPod will be displayed, and so too will the iTunes folders and any media folders on the PC. From this screen the user should be able to very easily indicate the file types that will be involved when they transfer music from iPod to computer, and also the final destination for those files. The best programs will also allow the individual to choose between a “transfer”, or “copy” functions that can keep a file in its original location while also sending a working copy elsewhere for storage or use.
